VVDI2 Golf 5 EDC16U1 K-line Data Upload Failed Solution

Problem:

Hi, I have with Xhorse vvdi2 vag v5.5.0 problems with edc16u1 ecu and dashboard.
It can’t read golf 5 2005 year. Something not ok with it
It looks like K line not working.

picture attached:

Error “Can’t connect to device. Switch ignition OFF/ON and retry”

Error “Non-standard upload data failed”

Solved!!!

Here’s the customer solution:

I test it this morning and all works fine now.
I removed soldering ball and i reinstall drivers and all working fine.

It reads now over kline it detects edc16 ecus and it read immo data eeprom and also dashboard it can read now.
I check k line from vvdi2 db25 connector on PCB to the optocupler (relay) omron, and from it to the ADG1606B multiplexer then from multiplexer to the L9637 interface. Then from it to the mcu Rx and TX line. All is ok. Even replace from vvdi 1 L9637 ISO 9141 interface. Didn’t work. Then I measured supply to the omron optocoupler relay it has 1.2 v when activate Kline communication. Check also 120ohm pull down resistors, check supply to the multiplexer ADG1606B it is ok 3.3v ako also on iso 9141(L9637) interface, and also I have on oscilloscope TX and TX signals from mcu to the L9637 it send data when It activate Kline. And in the end I found one solder ball between legs of multiplexer. You can see it on picture that I send you before. First time i open it. That was the main problem and USB drivers.
this is all i tested on this interface. Now all is fine and i can work now 😉

Interface is very high quality production, but this is something that happens from time to time.

How to Read BMW MEVD7XX ISN code with Xhorse VVDI2

With BMW DME ISN cable set, you can read out BMW ISN code on bench without drilling hole for boot pin.

Connect DME ISN cable with engine computer ECU and Xhorse VVDI2 BMW key programmer.

How to use VVDI2 and VVDI Prog to Program BMW X3 2007 EWS4 Key

Here’s the tutorial on programming BMW X3 year 2007 chip 73 transponder key EWS4.4 system with VVDI Prog and VVDI2 key programmer.

Step 1: Read EWS4 dump with VVDI Prog

Remove EWS4 box from vehicle

Disassemble the EWS4 module

Connect VVDI PROG with EWS4 adapter, then connect vvdi programmer with computer with USB cable

Check connection diagram
Read IC 2L86D by VVDI Prog and EWS4 adapter

Choose Immobilizer-BMW-EWS4 adapter
Press Read and save file

Step 2: Make dealer key with VVDI2 BMW

Now use VVDI2 for programming chip

Select Transponder Programmer

Check adding chip: 7935 blank

Choose Menu Immobilizer Data Tool->Euro->BMW->EWS4
Load EEPROM dump just read by VVDI prog

Key 1, 2,3 used so choose to program key4

Put chip 7935 into VVDI2 then press Make Dealer Key
start make dealer key

Prepare dealer key success.

After program key then install EWS box back to car

Test key by trying to synchronize key then start.

How to use VVDI2 to Program BMW 730Li E66 Smart Key

Guide: How to program smart remote on a BMW 730Li E66 year with Xhorse VVDI2 key programmer.

Vehicle:

BMW 730Li E66 year 2007 with CAS1 immo system with key slot

Have 1 working 3-button key, need to add another smart remote key

Procedure with VVDI2 BMW:

Connect VVDI2 with vehicle and laptop

Insert original remote into key slot and turn ignition on

Open software VVDI2 Quick Start
Open BMW software
Press Connect button

VVDI2 identified vehicle information: BMW CAS1 315MHz key No 4

Select first option: Add key: add key you should insert working key before continue next

Take away dealer key from ignition witch before press OK
If keyless remote should bring outside car
Connect to CAS

Save key info

There are 4 keys in system
Save key into file

select unused key position and Prepare dealer key with programmer

Put new key into VVDI2 programmer

Is the new key have keyless, if have press YES, otherwise NO

Key make okay and locked. Please use it start the car.
If cannot start engine. Use Add key function add the dealer key to CAS system.
If key can start engine, but keyless not working, pleas use “Repair Keyless key” function

Now key already programmed try to start

Try to synchronize then start.

Program Seat Leon MQB Smart Remote Key using VVDI2

A Spanish VVDI2 VAG user has successfully programmed a remote smart key on a Seat LEON MQB system. Here’s some operation steps provided.

At this moment, VVDI2 MQB key is not available yet, so he used 5G0959752BC from ali (Works for all the cars, VW Polo need to use 5G0959752BB.)

Open VVDI2 VAG software

Select Key Learn->MQB platform instrument immobilizer->Instrument with NEC35xx (Continental/VDO)

Click on Diag to load vehicle information

Read EEPROM/FLASH data and save

Turn ignition on with the original key

Follow these steps to program key:

1. The instrument box is off while you are reading these instructions. You need to reset instrument after completing the process
2.Read EEPROM and save
3. Read immo data and save them.
4. Dedicate key to the vehicle (you can go to step 7 if you have a working key and also do not want to add keys)
5. Reset instrument box
6. Add key. use the immo data to program the new key
7. Finish process

Reset “instrument box” to activate the box after finishing the process

Make Dealer Key

Select brand: Seat
in this case we will use the second option

Attention: If you have the dedicated key in a normal way it will not support coding ONLINE or changes in the immobilizer of the following units:

01-Engine

02-Gearbox

17-Instruments

9-CAN Gateway

28-Electrical Steering Column Lock
We recommend selecting the OEM option, which has the same ID as the original keys, will support the
ONLINE operations.

Are you sure to make a normal Seat key?
If you are sure you have selected the correct brand press “YES” to continue, if you do not press “NO”

Place the new key into the VVDI2 antenna and press OK

Make key success. Please program the new key to the vehicle.

Use “Reset instrument” to reset the box after all operations

Attention: You must make a backup of the eeprom before programming keys.

If you have a security copy you can continue, if you have not copied before immo data, press NO

Select second option to learn key. login with security code from car. Put the key into ignition switch on accord flowing tips. You must prepare all the working key. If the key not learned, it can not start the engine after learned.

Inter leaning key number: 2

2 keys should all be learned

Key learn success.

Test the remote control and start vehicle with the new key.

Xhorse VVDI remote Chinese Database Free Download

Download Xhorse VVDI2 remote database will help solve error E0-94 while making remotes.

Problem:

I am having Error E0-94 while making remotes!!!

I bought a bunch of remotes some time ago and there were no mentioning if they are China or EU remotes! Now that Samic has changed my default data base to EU now my remotes will not work because they are China!????? So that means i have to throw them out!???? Is this how it should work!?

Would be glad if someone can post here the Chinese remote data base so i can still use my already bought (it looks like Chinese version) remotes.

Solution:
if your VVDI2 have china data base , and you use EU remote – this is normal
also in reverse way
you must use Eu remote + customize VVDI to EU

or use Chinese remote and keep china database.

if you install new software , system automatically download Chinese database.
you must delete file, connect VVDI2 key programmer, run software and proper database will be downloaded.
if you have already Chinese data base , not always can be overwrite.
