Some customers reported that they failed to generate xhorse proximity smart keys with vvdi key tool max or mini key tool. Some others failed to generate wireless remote control keys. They have tried different keys all with fresh batteries, but still not working, even update the key tool max or mini key tool to latest version. Everything else is working but will not generate smart keys.
I’ve got a five-button GM flip key, it’s actually locked to a vehicle. It can’t be reused until it was unlocked. So I’m gonna use the Xhorse Renew Adapter here working with VVDI Key Tool Max to unlock it.
As you can see, the GM proximity card is indeed locked.
To unlock key, it needs to disassemble the key shell and take out main board.
Put the board in button side up properly on Renew Adapter.
Go back to Key Tool Max,
Special function >> Remote renew >> Buick Chevrolet >> 5BTN smart key 315Mhz F7952E >> Unlock
Note: If it didn’t identify the key and renew failed, try to press down the pins of board that are actually spring-loaded. Push down on them to make sure the pins contact are good.
It’ll process automatically…
Let me read transponder again, look, it is unlocked.
The Renew Adapters Full Set has 12 adapters, with this particular set you can do all kinds of vehicles. Instead of having to solder wires to the board, these adapters actually just line up the board where it needs to be and allows the Fobik to be unlocked.
How to unlock Dodge Fobik key?
Here is the OEM Dodge Fobik key.
The Key Tool Max and Renew Adapter No.10 are connected.
As you can see, the Fobik key is “Already locked”.
Open its outer shell, to put the circuit board properly in Renew Adapter.
Press on Xhorse Key Tool Max,
Special function >> Remote renew >> Chrysler & Jeep & Dodge >> Select correct FCC ID: IYZ-C01C M3N5W783X >> Unlock
Renew in process, wait until 100%…
Let’s get the key out to check info again.
As you can see, it is “Unlocked” now, and still outputting a signal.
All right, it’s all good done!
Renew Dodge Fobik key successfully via Xhorse Renew Adapter & VVDI Key Tool Max.
How to use Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Max to clone a spare key for 2014 Fiat Doblo? It’s very fast and easy, following I’ll show the procedure.
An original working key, a blank new key and a VVDI Super Chip are required.
Put the original key into Key Tool Max coil, press
Transponder clone >> Read transponder
Information has read out, it’s cloneable.
Just follow the instructions to clone, continue to press
Clone >> Start clone >> 46 transponder clone >> Original key clone(recommended)
Note: don’t remove the original key
It’s asking to sniff at the data, so what I have to do is to put the antenna near the ignition and turn it on.
Put the original key into Key Tool Max coil again as required.
Wait collecting data…
Take out the original key, then put a Super Chip into coil.
Write data success.
Let’s put the Super Chip inside a new key shell to have a test.
As you can see, it starts the vehicle.
Let me try the original one, both can start the car.
It is a very simple process with VVDI Key Tool Max to clone a key for 2014 Fiat Doblo. It only takes me 4 minutes to finish.

Follow mini prog app prompts to read EEPROM and save data
2.Make dealer key with xhorse vvdi key tool max
In key tool max app, select Special function -Immo data tool- BMW- CAS3+ 0L15Y
Then load eeprom read by the mini prog
Write key with dump
Reinstall CAS3+ module.
Test new key and remote control.
There is a list in Xhorse vvdi mini key tool/ key tool max app using the XM smart key. You need to have enough points to generate it demands at least 200 points and correctly put the board in the host. Check XM prox remote generation guide below.
All Toyota remotes with PROX icon can be generated with the XM remote. Here we make a 0020 314 315 remote.

8A smart key was generated successfully.
Check the frequency. It is 315FSK. The key is fine.
I tried to generate 4D ES Page 98 and 433.92, no dual frequency with Xhorse VVDI Key Tool Max + XM Series Toyota Smart Key. It says “The device doesn’t have enough remote bonus points for 8A smart-card generation, please collect points first!”
I’m not going to generate an 8A smart-card, why it keeps reminding that?
Vvdishop engineer replied
All Xhorse XM Toyota smart key generation needs to consume 200 points for the first time. Please collect enough points before generation.

In vvdi mini prog app, select EEPROM Flash function-ATMEL-AT93CXX-AT93C66 (pressure)
clean the 93c66 chip pin
Connect the 93c66 Eeprom chip with mini prog and pin adapter
Press Read EEPROM
Put the adapter on the chip (press the light button to turn on the floodlight)
Click continue below or press START button on mini prog to start operation
Read Eeprom data success, save data.
In xhorse key tool max app, select Special function-Immo data tool-File management-Local file
You can see the Eeprom file was saved to MINI PROG folder
Select Eeprom file, click More and copy the dump to MINI OBD folder
In key tool max app, select Immo data tool-Aisa-Toyota-Yaris-2003 93c66-start execution
upload dump in MINI OBD folder
Insert a vvdi super chip into the indiction coil
Select an unused key position and prepare dealer key
Select use vvdi super chip
Making key in progress
Prepare dealer key success. It can start car engine after write back new dump file.
Add another key need load the new data file.

Save new key file to MINI PROG folder
In mini prog app, select EEPROM Flash function-ATMEL-AT93CXX-AT93C66 (pressure)

This time select Write Eeprom

This is a Toyota Smart Key that was already programmed to another vehicle. Now I’m gonna unlock and reprogram it, here we go.
- Unlock Key
Plug VVDI Mini OBD Tool into OBD for connection.
Let’s read the key first, it is “Have learned”.
Go back to main page on Key Tool Max, press
Special function >> Unlock Toyota Smartkey >> Unlock
Go back to read the smart key again.
It is “Blank”.
So now we can use the 8A Smart Key to program to a new Toyota.
- Program Key
Go to Mini OBD Tool main page, press
Immo programming >> Toyota >> Select by type >> Smart key system >> Type 3 (8A smart card) >> Start execution >> Add a key
Please switch ignition on.
Confirm key number, press “OK”.
Hold the 8A Smart Key touching on the IG switch, after hearing beep twice, key registration succeeded!
Test the key, it does work!

Wait loading until 100%…
Please choose OBDII interface and turn on the ignition switch to ON.
Switch ignition off, remove the key, press “OK”.
Press UNLOCK or LOCK button for more than 1 second.
Match 1 remote successfully.
Press “OK” to program next one, press “Cancel” to complete.
You’ll hear a beep when match completed.
Remote match completely.
Let’s test the key, all are workable.
