Program Mercedes W216 All Keys Lost on Bench with VVDI MB

How-to: program Mercedes Benz w216 all keys lost with Xhorse VVDI MB Tool on bench.

Device required:

W216 EIS/EZS

VVDI MB BGA Tool

VVDI MB power adapter

W216/W221 CABLE

Programming Procedure:

Step 1: Read EIS data

Connect W216/W221 cable with EIS and VVDI MB via test cable

Run VVDI MB software, Read EIS data

Save EIS data

Save HC05 format file

Step 2: Calculate Password
Select Password Calculation

Choose All keys lost->OBD mode->W216(FAST)

Connect MB Power adapter with vvdi. Connect 12V to MB power adapter. Don’t provide 12V power to EIS cable.
Connect “Device OBD line” to OBD on bench before continue.
Press “Data Acquisition”

Connect IR adapter to VVDI MB tool before press OK
Wait about 1 hour 20 minutes to acquire data

Save data

Data acquisition finished. Upload the saved data with “Upload data” for password

wait 2 minutes to query result

Calculate password succeed. Copy the password.

Step 3: Prepare Key File
Choose Prepare Key File function

Load EIS file

Paste password here and choose key number i.e #6

Select unused key position and tick V51
Press Prepare Key File
Save key file

Step 4: Write Key
Select Read Write Key function

Insert a new key into VVDI MB

Load key file
Press Write to write key

Write key success.

Test the new key.
Done.

Xhorse VVDI MB Power Adapter vs. Clone Power Adapter

Error:

VVDI MB Tool displayed error “Data acquisition failed! Failed times:0” when trying to calculate data for W210 using MB power adapter.

Possible reason:

You use fake MB power adapter. When customers use pirated MB power adapter to upload calculation data will get detail error.

Solution:

There is a MB power adapter clone with cheaper price (looks the same), but not manufactured by Xhorse.

How to personalize Mercedes W207 2011 ESL with VVDI MB

Here’s the guide to personalize Mercedes E-class W207 2011 ESL (key with BGA chip) using Xhorse VVDI MB Tool without renewing the EIS. The process of calculating the password, reading the EIS data and programming ESL is performed by the VVDI MB.

Insert key into EIS
Open VVDI MB software

Select EIS Tools, Read EIS data and save it

Save HC05 format file as well
Go to Password Calculation
Tick lost all working key

Select Mode OBD and Chassis W172,204,207 (FAST)
Follow steps below to finish
1. Connect VVDI MB tool with MB power adapter and OBD cable
2. Connect IR adapter to VVDI-MB tool
3. Press Data acquisition
4. wait until 100% complete
5. Save acquisition data

This opeartin need about 18 minutes. Connect EIS with cable before continue
Don’t connect ESL to cable.

Press Upload Data, update eis data saved above

Success find key password

Copy the password
Untick if lost all working key and select IR mode
Select Chassis W172,204,207,212 (with ELV)

Step 1: Connect IR adapter to VVDI MB
Step 2: Data acquisition
1.Insert working key to ignition, wating 5 seconds
2.Take out working key, insert again, last insret to IR reader,
3.Data acquisition
4.Insert working key to ignitoon, waiting 30s,
5.Insert working key to device IR reader, wait end
6. Save acquisition data
Step 3: Press Upload Data to send acquisition data
Step 4: Press Query Result to get key password

Select ESL Tools

Select Load VVDI-MB EIS Data with key password

and paste key password to corresponding area

Connect EIS with Xhorse ESL emulator

Tick Auto clear TP and personalized
Press Write button
Writing data

Writing data success

Remove and insert key to EIS and repeat several times.

Done.

VVDI MB read W209 Kline Password without removing

The great Update software version 5.8.0 from VVDI MB for Benz key programming released. Now 99% of cars mo need to remove anything. Disconnect ELV and just treat it as it were on bench. Just use VVDI MB power adapter as normal like W204 /W208/W210.

Here’s the new feedback on Mercedes W209:

Trying out a w209. It’s on bench but simulating in vehicle. So far so good. password first read with vvdi mb tool, about 18 minutes.
When in car you just connect the blue alligator clip wire coming off the obd into the esl plug to grab the k line . Should be pin 5.

VVDI MB Tool Power Adapter Calculate W204 EIS key Password

Here’s the step-by-step guide to calculate MB W204 EIS all keys lost key password using VVDI MB BGA Tool and power adapter in 20 minutes.

Connect W204 EIS using VVDI MB EIS cables

now follow the steps
Open VVDI MB software

Select EIS Tools->Read EIS data->Save EIS data

Save eeprom bin file and HC05 format file

Select Password Calculation

Tick lost all working key

Select chassis W204

Click on Data Acquisition

1. This opeation need about 18 minutes. DON’T perform this opeartion on the car!!!
2. Connect EIS with correct able before continue
3. Don’t connect ESL to cable.
