2 Ways to exchange VVDI MB FBS3 Smart Key Frequency

Similar as Xhorse VVDI BE key pro, users can exchange the VVDI MB FBS3 keylessgo smart keyfrequency between 315MHz and 433MH.

The reusable FBS3 smart key is compatible with most Mercedes key programmers on the aftermarket.

2 Ways to exchange frequency:

Method 1:

If you have VVDI MB Tool, it is easy to change frequency in vvdi mb software (update software to latest version)

Select Other Function-> Set key remote frequency/ Update MB smart key

You can set frequency between 315MHz and 433MHz

Method 2:

If without VVDI MB, you can change FBS3 keylessgo smart key frequency manually by soldering/desoldering the FRE resistor (marked red in picture below)

How to Replace and Program Xhorse VVDI Mini ELV Emulator?

How-to: replace/program Mercedes C300 ELV by using VVDI mb and elv emulator.

Model: Mercedes Benz C300 W207 year 2006

Device required:

A working key

Xhorse VVDI MB Tool

Xhorse VVDI Mini ELV Emulator

Benz Test platform

12V adapter

Procedure:

Make Connection

connect VVDI MB with EIS, Benz test platform and 12V adapter

power on the test platform

Run VVDI MB software, Go to EIS Tools> Read EIS Data

Reading data success. EIS is normal.

Go to Password Calculation-> select Chassis W172, 204, 207 with ELV -> Data Acquisition

Insert working key to EIS before press OK

Take working key out of the EIS

Insert working key into EIS again before press OK

Take out working key

Then insert working key into vvdi mb IR reader

Data acquisition in process

Insert working key to EIS

Reading data success. Save data.

Data acquisition finished. Upload the saved data with “Upload Data” for password

Upload success.

Tick Auto reflash and press Query result

Calculate password online success. Save pass.

Copy the password

Go to EIS Tools, paste password to corresponding area

Save EIS data

Save as HC05 format

Press Get to search erase password

Find erase password success

Save and replace previous EIS data

Save and replace HC05 format file

Install VVDI mini elv emulator

Go to ESL Tools-> Read ESL data -> Load ESL data

Upload ESL data read previously

Tick Auto clear TP and personalized
Press Write

Confirm use ESL emulator for the ESL

Writing data success.

Read EIS data again

Test the ELV emulator on car

Done.

Xhorse VVDI Software Failed to Install on Windows 10 Solution

Problem:

Anyone had problems with VVDI MB on Windows 10? I have version 5.03.

However, the application keeps deleting itself! I am told by our computer support it is not anti-virus issues. I have tried to update to 5.05 but it says it is not compatible with my computer. Dell E5450 i5. Any ideas?

Solution:

Xhorse engineers have tested vvdi tools software on WinXP, Win7, Win8 and Win10 all ok.

If you have problem running vvdi software on Windows 10, here’s the common solutions:

1. It may to be windows problem. Install again win 10 but make sure it’s good quality because some people had same issue and did reinstall with another win 10

2. Disable all the firewall etc. There is a way if doing it permanently if you look on the web.
3. Open windows security and check the threats it was be highlighted, just click allow. This happens on vvdi2 and vvdi prog even after days of it being fine.

4. Windows defender, firewall and any anti-viruses will always cause problems, because the vvdi software doesn’t have microsoft certification etc. Stop anti-virus or windows defender or any program for virus detects i haved same problem and solved by this way.

Program Mercedes W216 All Keys Lost on Bench with VVDI MB

How-to: program Mercedes Benz w216 all keys lost with Xhorse VVDI MB Tool on bench.

Device required:

W216 EIS/EZS

VVDI MB BGA Tool

VVDI MB power adapter

W216/W221 CABLE

Programming Procedure:

Step 1: Read EIS data

Connect W216/W221 cable with EIS and VVDI MB via test cable

Run VVDI MB software, Read EIS data

Save EIS data

Save HC05 format file

Step 2: Calculate Password
Select Password Calculation

Choose All keys lost->OBD mode->W216(FAST)

Connect MB Power adapter with vvdi. Connect 12V to MB power adapter. Don’t provide 12V power to EIS cable.
Connect “Device OBD line” to OBD on bench before continue.
Press “Data Acquisition”

Connect IR adapter to VVDI MB tool before press OK
Wait about 1 hour 20 minutes to acquire data

Save data

Data acquisition finished. Upload the saved data with “Upload data” for password

wait 2 minutes to query result

Calculate password succeed. Copy the password.

Step 3: Prepare Key File
Choose Prepare Key File function

Load EIS file

Paste password here and choose key number i.e #6

Select unused key position and tick V51
Press Prepare Key File
Save key file

Step 4: Write Key
Select Read Write Key function

Insert a new key into VVDI MB

Load key file
Press Write to write key

Write key success.

Test the new key.
Done.

Will VVDI MB Program Benz W221 All Keys Lost?

Question: I have Mercedes Benz W221 without keys. I tried to read data with VVDI MB Tool, no success with or without power adapter. I have cable for W221. With that cable I can read EIS with IR, but not with OBD. VVDI MB cannot connect. I also have VVDI prog, but I cannot find how connect to this unit. It is almost like W164, but it is little bit different.

According to Xhorse support this unit is not readable by any VVDI device. For reference I uploaded images.

Answer:

Confirmed , W221 ALK is supported by VVDI MB tool V4.7.0 & above. but some ignitions are after Dealer status and is impossible to do them with VVDI.

Mercedes-Benz ME9.7 connected to data read from ECU, did not try to reset. Check the scheme of connection.

Connect the cables from VVDI MB tool OBD to ECU directly and give power supply. Every function is fine. If you using Benz ECU test adapter cable, please check did the can high and can low of the plug is short circuit. Sometimes there will have short circuit on the serial port of the ECU adapter.
In my case I’m not using resistance.

4 Steps to Program Benz S500 W221 All Keys Lost with VVDI MB

How-to program Mercedes Benz W500 Year 2008 chassis W221 key with VVDI MB BGA Tool when all keys lost.

Step 1: Read EIS Data

Choose chassis W221 and read EIS data

Reading data success.

Save EIS data
Save HC05 format file

Step 2: Calculate password
Select Password Calculation

Select IR mode and chassis W221
Press Data Acquisition

Connect VVDI OBD cable to OBD on bench before continue
Connect IR adapter to VVDI MB before press OK

Take out and insert again if already inserted

Wait until calculate password success

Step 3: Prepare key file

Go to Prepare Key File->Load EIS file

load EIS file

Select key format v51 and press Prepare Key File

save key file

Step 4: Write Key

Go to Read Write Key

Identify key and Load Key file

load a key file

choose key file format v51 and press Write

VVDI MB Tool write key success

Test EIS status/Working Key->Test working key
