Here comes the Xhorse multi prog feedback on PSA DCM6.2A ECU.

PEUGEOT DCM6.2A BIG IMPROVEMENT.
Write today another ecu from PSA DCM6.2A with multi prog, and see really HUGE improvement… some months ago when i write such of ecus it takes almost 15 minutes and i had and warning message from the tool.

 

but today it finished the writing in one and a half minute 1 min & 27 secs.

 

Checksum is done online with the multiprog.

Problem:

Install Xhorse multi prog on a fresh Windows 10 system.  After database download, this error pop up.

Error:

“Corruption
Error code: %1, Error address: %2.”

 

 

Solution:

Your software version is very old. You use 1.0.8.0 so is far far old.

Very old software might fail to do update, download latest one.

Latest software is 1.3.1.0 (till Sep. 10th, 2025).

Equipment: Soldering iron, fine gauge wire, Torx and 10mm sockets.

 

Step 1: Remove the SRS Module

1. Disconnect the vehicle’s battery and wait 10+ minutes.
2. Locate the SRS module under the center console.
3. Remove the safety clip and unplug the electrical connector.
4. Unbolt the module (10mm bolts) and carefully remove it from the vehicle.

 

 

 

 

Step 2: Prepare the Module for Reading/Writing

1. Open the metal casing of the SRS module to access the main PCB.
2. Identify the correct chip and solder points. The target is the R7F701021 microchip.
3. Solder wires to the necessary points on the PCB as per the diagram below.

Step 3: Read & Backup Original Data (CRITICAL)

1. Connect the wires to your Xhorse Multi-Prog.
2. In the software, select: Device -> Honda(Airbag) -> Accord-SRS (2019).

C-Flash

D-Flash (Most Important for Crash Data)

C-Test

D-Test

 

4. SAVE these files securely. This is your backup if anything goes wrong.

 

Step 4: Write the Clean Data

The goal is to overwrite the crash data in the D-Flash with a clean file.

1. Source a Clean D-Flash File:

• Extract it from a known-good donor module (preferred method).

2. In Multi-Prog, select WRITE.
3. Load your clean D-Flash file (the 64KB .bin file).
4. Execute the write command. The process will erase and reprogram the chip.
5. Optional but Recommended: Also write the clean C-Flash file if you have it.

 

Note: Some memory areas (like C-Shadow) may be locked and cannot be written. This is normal. The D-Flash is the primary target for resetting crash data.

 

Step 5: Verify and Reinstall

1. Desolder the wires and carefully reassemble the SRS module.
2. Reinstall the module into the vehicle and reconnect the battery.
3. Turn the ignition ON. The airbag light should illuminate briefly and then turn OFF, indicating a successful reset.
4. Use a professional scanner to check for any active SRS fault codes and confirm all system checks pass.

 

Troubleshooting & Tips

• “Connection Fail” Error: Check your solder connections; they are the most common point of failure. Ensure wires are secure and not shorting.
• Software Detects Crash After Write: Some online file analyzers may give false positives. The true test is the airbag light behavior in the vehicle.
• File Source: Using a file from an identical part number module is crucial. Files are often VIN-specific, but a clean state can be written.
• Always work on a stable, static-free surface and handle the PCB carefully.
